Jane Anderson

Committee Member

Jane has over twenty years experience in vocational education and training.  Studying at TAFE re-ignited a love of learning, and she went on to complete a Bachelor and Masters of Adult Education and more recently a Masters International Relations. Jane has lived in several countries and in addition to her career at TAFE NSW, Jane has worked as a volunteer on international projects in Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. One of her first roles at TAFE NSW was working on the Sydney 2000 Games and in 2010 she worked on the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games. In 2021 she was selected to participate in the NSW Federation of Teachers two week Anna Stewart Program for women and in 2022 elected onto the TAFE TA Executive committee. Jane has a strong commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is Co-Lead for the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics Affinity Group. She regularly attends the Teachers Federation Peace Environment and International Issues Special Interest Group and also supports members of the Afghan Hazara refugee community in Indonesia. As an adult educator she is deeply convinced of the power of vocational education to enable individuals, families and communities achieve their goals, and in particular, the transformative power for women.
